I know there are tour companies who offer 3-4 day trips to turkey from israel, i can’t find any using google. Can anyone refer me to a site or something?

I’m traveling to Israel and hired an independent tour guide directly (no middle person). Since the entire daily fee goes directly to the guide, do I still have to tip? If so, what is a reasonable amount. I accustomed to tipping based on per person, per day. Could use some “guidance” (pun intended).

There are plenty of jobs that need to be done outside of the West Bank so I do not think you can say that is a factor.

And from what I have been told by people who have served that the IDF acts as the “melting pot” of Israeli society. In that it makes people from all backgrounds equal and the training forms strong bonds.

Would not Israeli Arabs benefit from this? It would certainly help alleviate claims that Israeli Arabs are second class citizens, after all no one considers Israeli Druze, who do serve, second class citizens.

It would also demonstrate to Israeli Jews that their Arab citizens are not a “fifth column” but part of their society.

It seems like it would be good for all sides, so why is it not happening?

I think that will be necessary to bring peace. Going back to the pre-1967 borders would be good for both sides. Plus, it would reflect the true nature of Jerusalem; a city that is holy for both Jews and Muslims.

The border could be the Wailing Wall on the Israeli side, and the Dome of the Rock on the Palestinian side.
Also, East Jerusalem has a majority Palestinian population, while West Jerusalem is mostly Jewish.

Promises were made that once Israel left Gaza, the terrorism would at least decrease. Instead, the Palestinians are launching rocket after rocket at Israeli towns. In Sderot especially, they are really suffering and several innocent Israeli citizens have been killed.

But Israel has nothing to do with Gaza now. If this is what happens when she gets out of Gaza, what would happen if Israel gave into all Palestinian demands?

I’ve been to Israel several and i am learning Hebrew. Now i am fed up with the UK and really would live to move to Israel. However not being Jewish doesn’t help as from the information i gathered, only jewish people can enter and live in Israel permanently, with some exceptions: charity workers or with a work permit. Are you aware of any other ways? If i have to, i wouldn’t mind converting to Judaism but this is not ideal as religion is not very important to me.

Upon this false premise they halted their decision to invade Northern Israel and returned back to Syria … big mistake. …. To my way of thinking, if people in the world who currently live in inhumane conditions had a decent living environment, access to good education and real possibilities to be employed, there would be considerably less anger against countries, governments and systems and therefore less people to become involved in terrorism.

I will be there for one night in a few weeks, arriving early morning then leaving late the next day. I want to go to the Kotel, walk around the Old City, Mahane Yehuda Market, take the bus to Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem. I couldn’t find a map online with hotels and tourist information. Every time I stayed in Jerusalem before it was with friends and they drove so it was easy getting around. If anyone has a hotel suggestion close to everything I would appreciate it.

We would like to travel in late September/early November I was thinking about a week in Egypt, seeing the usual sights, then fly to Israel a few days and end in Lebanon, where my wife has relatives. We wwould accept mostlly guided tours and want to stay, for the most part in **** hotels or the equivalent. It would be great to have English Speaking Guides for many places. I need help in planning this vacation.

Here in Haifa, every schoolchild will have to be able to speak Arabic–I wonder what would happen if their spoken Arabic were as good as their spoken Hebrew! In my opinion, a bi-national state is a STEPPING STONE to what will eventually become a UNICULTURAL STATE, and it won’t be Hebrew that they’ll be speaking, as happened in Spain where the Jews spoke Arabic or Ladino, but where Hebrew was only used for prayers. The language of business and commerce will by necessity be Arabic, and Israel will lose its sovereignty and become a part of the Muslim World. Do you think I am wrong? I am going to Israel part of Oranim program and I am going to extend my ticket and go island hopping at Greece. What is a cheap way to get to Greece from Israel? Also if I am looking to party which islands should I go to? Also are there any websites that I can use to book tickets. I’ve heard ferries are the way to go is that true? I have read recent studies that Israel has a very serious water problem.
As an example, a tourist can be fined a couple of hundred dollars if he/she tries to take a bath in any Israeli hotel.
Some other people suggest that tap water tastes terrible and you can get diarrhea or something if you accidentally drink some of it.
I just want to know if all the tourist restaurants are clean, because I have read many real bad stories recently.

My friend is a quarter Jewish got to travel to Israel for free because of his ethic background. Plus his cousin was granted a scholarship for being Jewish.

I also have Latin friends who get their education pretty much free for being Spanish.

Anything like this for being Italian? I never really thought about it before, and I’m surious where I might start searching.

Israel is denying exit permits that the young men and women need to leave Gaza for university programs in countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Germany, Britain, and the United States.

“Israel seems determined to punish all Gazans, including students, for the behavior of Hamas,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, director of Human Rights Watch’s Middle East division. “Israel should not make young people seeking education pay the price for its conflict with a political or military group.”

i have to take an additional 41 hours to be able to work , or take the teacher certification test . i want to teach grades from pre-k to 3rd grade. studying 41 hours is going to take two years in the community college but i am thinking instead to take my master degree. what do you think? bu the way i am a staying home mom with a two years old daughter and i am currently pregnant

That’s where inflation comes from, and I don’t think our dollar, as weak as it is, can stand up to it. I definitely don’t think that war is worth jeopardizing our position in the global economy, anymore than it has. Now, see? I guess I’m more conservative than you assumed.
